While having been positively tackling environmental activities as before, LAPIS Semiconductor obtained ISO14001 certificate, that ignited all LAPIS Semiconductor members in all areas to plan the development of the environmental improvement all the more .

Development production which pursues high quality and high reliability

All LAPIS Semiconductor sites, including overseas plants and cooperating companies, obtained ISO9001 certificate which is an international quality standard. LAPIS Semiconductor is pursuing a development and production of the product which secured the high reliability and the stability of quality with which a customer can be satisfied.

The measure for earth environment

LAPIS Semiconductor shall always consider global environmental protection and contribute to human beings' healthy continuation and lasting prosperity of companies.

1. LAPIS Semiconductor shall carry out the originality and creativity of the energy saving by all the corporate activities, and put into practice.
2. LAPIS Semiconductor shall develop eco-friendly products and pursue minimization of an environmental impact through the life cycle of a product.
3. LAPIS Semiconductor shall give priority to a less environmental impact in preparation of materials and sub-materials and purchase of products.
4. LAPIS Semiconductor shall observe environmental law regulation and local convention in and outside the country.
5. LAPIS Semiconductor shall strive for training of the employees who consider living environment and earth environment and education of the persons concerned.
6. LAPIS Semiconductor shall aim at healthy cooperation with a society by the contribution to a local environment and proper release of environmental data.

LAPIS Semiconductor obtained ISO 14001 certificate not only in LAPIS Semiconductor Miyazaki and LAPIS Semiconductor Miyagi which are production bases but also in the Hachioji area (the present Shin-Yokohama area) which is a development division in July, 1997, and using this structure effectively LAPIS Semiconductor has taken various measures for minimizing the effects on environment affected by a lot of energies and chemical substances needed for production of LSI.

On the other hand, since LSI achieves a contribution greatly to energy saving and saving resources at the time of use, in order to expand this characteristic further, LAPIS Semiconductor has adopted the mechanism of considering environment at the time of a new product design. For example, LAPIS Semiconductor greatly contributes to mobile computing devices, such as portable cellular phones with much constraint in power source or size, by promoting the WCSP technology of realizing micro-size and weight saving compared with former type semiconductor packages.

ISO 14001 certificate registration in JACO (Japan Audit and Certification Organization for Environmental Quality) became invalid on October 1, 2008, with the spin-out from Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd., but in the extension screening by JQA (Japanese Quality Association), certificate was registered as a ROHM group's member in November, 2009.
