Video Memory Overview

Description

LAPIS Semiconductor provides a wide selection of video memory developed using DRAM technology, which is suitable for image processing systems from a small panel to a full HD panel.
It is CMOS dynamic memory and system access memory that operates high-speed FIFO (First-in First-out) which can operate high-speed asynchronous read/write.
Serial read/serial write can be controlled indivisually in asynchronous and different clock rate by each specific clock. Moreover, because the self-refresh control circuit is built-in, it does not need to be refreshed from the outside. In addition, it realizes simple and easy video data processing by write mask function of IE terminal and skipping read data function of OE terminal.

First In First Out

Feature

  • 262214×8bit configuration - 1,114,112words×24bit configuration
  • Asynchronous read/write
  • Self refresh function

Applications

The memory provides the following functions for flat-panel display, surveillance camera, video camera, video capture, digital still camera, graphic data transmission system, graphic conversion system, etc.

Application Examples
  • 3-D Y/C separation
  • Compensation between frames
  • LVDS transmission buffer
  • Frame synchronizer
  • Noise reduction
  • Data compression/expansion
  • Motion detection
  • On-screen display
  • IP conversion
